Fundraise for us

The Restart Centre relies entirely on donations. One of the best ways to help Restart in its work is to fundraise for us. Not only does fundraising aid us financially, but it is also a great way for Restart to increase its reach and scope. Through fundraising, our name can spread and grow and it is a way for us to engage with new donors. We have had many different types of fundraisers throughout the years from our supporters, with examples including charity fun runs, cycle challenges, bake sales, car boot sales, school fundraisers and so on. The possibilities are endless!

If you would like to start your fundraising journey with us please contact our fundraising coordinator, Ben, at fundraising@restartafrica.org.

Alternatively, you can set up your own fundraiser on our JustGiving page via this link here.

WHY FUNDRAISE FOR US?

Fundraising for Restart never goes unnoticed or unappreciated. The income we get from fundraisers makes a tangible and visible difference to the lives of the young people we support at Restart. Whether it be something as simple as securing the food we provide to the children, or helping to fund a new building, or investing in our education programmes, anything that you can do to support us makes a big difference. If you contact us to set up a fundraiser, you can expect support and guidance from our fundraising coordinator, Ben. You can also have the chance to discuss with Restart where the money is most needed so you can adjust your fundraising target. Whatever you decide to do, we are here to support you.

We look forward to working with you!

OUR PREVIOUS FUNDRAISERS

Here are some examples of our previous fundraisers that have helped grow Restart’s following and have aided the centre in so many ways.

Volunteers’ Lockdown Relay

During the COVID-19 pandemic, 50 volunteers got together to run a relay race where they would run 5km for every child at Restart Africa. The effort ended up raising over £3,000 during a time when Restart was struggling to generate funds in the midst of the uncertainty of the pandemic.

Charity Book Shop

The Coffee Shop ‘No 18 Park Coffee and Gift Shop’ in Wrenbury hosts a donation book shelf where people can come and buy books for a minimum of just a pound. Every pound made goes towards Restart Africa and helps fund the education of our young people at their new primary school. This book shop has already raised £285 and is continuing to grow

‘Kilimanjarians’

In 2019, a group of volunteers climbed Mount Kilimanjaro to help raise funds for Restart. The volunteers endured sub zero temperatures and an altitude of over 5,000 metres. All pushed themselves to the absolute limit but successfully managed the climb and raised a flag for Restart at the summit of Africa’s highest mountain. The effort raised over £4,000 and continues to be a source of inspiration for the kids at Restart

School All-Nighter Sports Event

Shrewsbury School, long time support of Restart, held an all-night sports challenge to raise money. They did 10 sporting events over ten hours in February 2024 and raised an astonishing £9,200 for us! This is a great example of a large group of people coming together to raise money for Restart!

The London Marathon

In the summer 2023, an ex-volunteer ran the London marathon to raise money and awareness for Restart Africa. He did an amazing job and was flying the Restart Flag (t-shirt) all the way around the UK’s capital!
